Acupuncture

Acupuncture is derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine. It's been used for thousands of years to treat pain and ailments of all sorts. If you're seeking a holistic and traditional way to treat your pain, look no further.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture, Cupping and Gua-Sha are all ancient tools used to treat ailments of the body. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), these therapies work to restore balance, promote natural healing, and enhance overall well-being by targeting the body’s energy flow, or Qi.Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system, increase circulation, and regulate internal organ function. It is commonly used to alleviate pain, reduce stress, support digestion, regulate hormones, and improve sleep.Electro-Acupuncture is a modern enhancement of traditional Acupuncture that involves applying gentle electrical stimulation to the acupuncture needles. This technique helps to amplify the effects of standard acupuncture by sending a motor response to the targeted muscles and promoting a stronger activation of the body’s natural healing responses. It’s particularly effective for treating chronic pain, muscle tension, nerve-related conditions, and inflammation.Cupping uses suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues, encouraging blood flow, releasing muscle tension, and promoting detoxification. It is especially effective for muscular tightness and inflammation.Gua-Sha is a gentle scraping technique that promotes lymphatic drainage, reduces stagnation, and enhances immune function. It is often used for facial rejuvenation as well as to treat chronic pain or tightness.Together, these therapies offer a holistic approach to health, addressing both the symptoms and root causes of imbalance in the body.

About Me

Born and raised in Sudbury ON, I received my Advanced Diploma graduating with honors from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture program offered at Georgian College, in Barrie Ontario. I have a deep interest in holistic medicine and believe in the body’s ability to naturally heal itself when given the right tools and guidance.I typically like to use different modalities within my Acupuncture sessions such as Cupping, Fascial Scraping (gua-sha), Acupressure and Electro-Acupuncture to help further stimulate the healing response at the targeted muscle groups and points.I enjoy exercising, stretching and visiting the gym for regular workouts. I've suffered myself from upper and lower back injuries in the past and understand the importance of loosening, warming up, and strengthening each muscle group for effective injury prevention. For this reason I enjoy working with individuals with sports and weightlifting injuries. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist, I studied the Meridian systems, which are energy pathways rooted deep within our bodies that each have specific points to help treat not only pain, but also systemic concerns related to organs and their corresponding functions. With that being said, Acupuncture can treat a wide range of ailments. A few things I love to focus on and have seen great success with improving, are: headaches and migraines, TMJ, muscle tension and back pain of all sorts!
